There are 3 things I never go cheap on toilet paper, garbage bags, and turkey shells after learning from experience on all 3. The amount of work and dedication it takes to kill a turkey in my opinion you should buy some of the more expensive shells. Winchester long beards or mag blends would be two options. What kind of shells are you shooting if I had to guess cheapest you can find and you get what you pay for. If you are trying to save money spend less on other supplies and get some quality shells seems like you would already know this if you are usually good for the limit. I would rather hunt in a suit and tie with no calls and quality shells than have the cheapest shell I could find with turkey load stamped on the box. One of the worst feelings for a turkey hunter is calling in a bird only to watch him fly off after shooting and questioning if he will live another day.

Hunted for 2 weeks and nothing in FL. Bobcats ran off the ones they didn't eat. Had some gobbles in AL but couldn't close deal on very windy days I was hunting.
