My first hunt of the season today. I took my pastor to my honey hole. It was all textbook until pastor pulled the trigger. He shot him at 30yds in full strut. Gobbler rolled backwards then sprang up and flew off. Game over. I named that bird Lazarus.

Alarm went off at 430 and just wasn't feeling it today. From one to ten, my motivation was sitting around a 2. Lack of gobbles, lack of pics, timber cutting on my best tract, and distance to drive took it's toll on me today. So I hit the snooze. Of course, by the time I figured out I wasn't going back to sleep it was too late to leave.

Congrats to the killas out there today!

Been there brother. It's not a good feeling. I hope things make a turn for the better for ya.

I'm with you bamaeyedoc. I could've gone several mornings since last Saturday and I just don't have the drive because the birds haven't gobbled with a crap this year and I've already hunted I think 22-23 days without even having a chance to pull the trigger and only had 1 bird actually work. I'm beyond disgusted, frustrated, sick, whatever you want to call it.

Damn son, sounds like you have been shadowing me! That's exactly how my season has gone. However, I did have a turkey reuben sandwich at lunch today and I took joy knowing that somewhere a turkey died so I could eat! grin

Lol. I need to do that. Found out today that my son (8) has a baseball tournament this weekend (my weekend with him of course) so he's done and that was my biggest goal, getting him a shot at his first turkey. He could've killed several hens but no gobblers

Naw. I just laughed and told him that gobblers don't respect anybody. Not even preachers! I then said that turkeys have a way of humbling a man.
