All I can say is, no regrets... LUMPY had been on me to try it out for 4-5 yrs now and I just couldn't put away my ol somewhat-reliable MB 835. Wish I had bought in years ago. Shooting 3" #9s from a stock camo 20ga 870 Compact and $10 Primos TightWad choke I bought from Cabelas bargain cave in Huntsville in opened package. I have kill shots between 16-43 yds with the 43 yd'r being in full strut (I know better than to do that and even yelled at him but he was too worked up to stick his neck up).

I'd heard of those "stone cold dead" shots before but never experienced one until a 37 yd shot with TSS earlier this year, literally didn't even twitch a leg from what I could see. At same time, I shot one at 16 yds that flopped as much as anything I've ever seen before so I'm not calling this a miracle shot or anything... just like that I shed 2 lbs and more than half foot of gun I had been carrying for many yrs without having to adjust my hunting style for fear of carrying a smaller gauge gun in the field.

No regrets here been shooting it for a couple of years now and it will put a hurtin on a bird or coyote for that matter.

Shoot a turkey in the head at 16 yds with anything and he will flop all over the place. It the 40 yd shots where the whole head and neck region is riddled with holes that they don't seem to flop as much.

Shot one at 38 yards this morning and he didn't even twitch. Bled all over the back of my legs too.

It's not TSS but I used Heavyweight loads from Federal for the first time this year. You're right, I never experienced a flop-less turkey until this year. Density makes all the difference in the world. I've had two that didn't require a boot on the head (but I did it anyway, can't take chances).

It is over rated every year.

Dude, take your lickin and call it a night. I don't use the stuff either but I have enough sense not to knock a product that so many guys have had tremendous results with. This board is full of info from guys that are convinced it's a superior load. Based on some of the older posts, it is pretty dang impressive. If you don't want to use it, fine, but no one wants to hear your diatribe.

I was a skeptic about going to TSS but finally gave in and tried it this season.

My results so far have lived up to the hype. I went from 3.5" Magblends to a 3"/2oz load of TSS 8.5's and can promise you if I ever shoot anything else at a turkey it'll be because TSS becomes unavailable.

A 3", low pressure load that isn't loud, doesn't kick, is fun to load and flat out kills turkeys....Why would you ever want to shoot anything else. I love shooting a turkey at 35/40 yards and it looks like lightening hits him. Just a puff of a few neck feathers drifting over him and no flopping!

Your next step is gonna be a 20 gauge. It took several years for me to believe that the 20 would actually be a better gun for me to carry. With a much lighter gun, I've got a wider pattern that gives me a lot of room for aiming error and if I put the pattern on him he has no chance to survive.
