Catfish tournament yes. Bass tournament no. Sounds like fun Hell, who's discriminating, Lets have a fish tournament. All fish count as long as you are following regulations on size and limit. Show up with a mix of crappie, bluegill, bass and catfish. Throw in a drum, carp or buffalo if you snag one. Total highest weight wins.

After the end of May it's too damn hot to enjoy being outside. All the previous events for this bunch were early to mid May and we always had a blast. We even had shade trees back then but the April 11th tornado destroyed D section where we always set up. There wasn't a tree left after that thing blew thru.
All that being said, we sure did have some fun times back then.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Do it May 6 and you can visit the Alabama Wildlife Wild Game cookoff af Civitan Park at 5 that afternoon. Great food, cold beer, music, silent auction. It's great.

Sure am glad the get together got canceled that year... would have been quite a few of us ALDER guys up there the week the tornados came through... I sure could use a weekend of good food, good times and stories about Bronco and the Boat paddle!!

I got some great memories from the couple that we were at... My Son learned alot from some those folks that were there too... still talks about all those Crawfish!!

Some of you guys need to understand something...while it's called a fish tourney, it's way more of a beerfest, and every once in a while someone goes off in a boat or out onto the dock, and catches a fish. If anyone ever actually weighed in, I must've had my beer up and missed it, although, Bronco did show up with some REAL nice catfish, now and again...
