You always hear about killing all of the species of turkeys. Has anybody caught all of the bass species? My oldest son has. I'm missing a Guadaloupe, Santa Fe, and a Delta(?) or whatever it's called. Would like to have pictures of the fish (close-up) and one holding the fish.
I believe it would be 8 or 9 sub-species (probably a closer classification than species).

Wasn't there some guys a few years ago talking about the "Alabama slam" or whatever. Largemouth, smallmouth, spot and then some weird ones like red eye and a couple other creek bass.
“Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.”
On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

Probably hard to tell what you are looking at. Son has told me that they have evidence that there have been inter-racial relationships between spots and shoal bass. That inter-racial mess is more perchs specialty

Add a Mean-Mouth to the group too(Hybrid smallmouth and Spot). They dont recognize it as a species though and 90% of folks think they are a smallmouth. I think Ive caught every Bama Species but none of those freaky ones. I also believe I read something where they had recognized the difference between a Shoal bass and a Red-eye. I think those in question were found in Paint Rock River but either way we use to fish it when we hunted up there and caught them.

Redeye and shoal bass are definitely different sub-species. Never heard of the mean mouth. Catching all of them over a weekend would be something. Or heck, even in a month.

I did catch a Smallmouth and a Largemouth on the same cast once on an A-rig. I thought that was pretty cool.

Never heard of a mean mouth, closest i recall is a Warmouth Bass, also known as a Redeye Bass, Stump Knocker or Strawberry perch. These are Perch, most like Bream also known as Sunfish. I really don't put them in the same category as a Large Mouth or Small Mouth Bass, although they are all in the Sunfish family.
Let us cross over the river and rest in the shade of the trees Stonewall Jackson Hug your loved ones often, Life is short even on its longest days. I don't see the glass as half full or half empty. I just finish it and order another.
