After you clean the skull and let it dry, to remove the staining I have some beautician grade peroxide. I guess you paint it on with a brush, but how long do you leave it on before washing it off? Did you get the cream or liquid? I guess you mean 40 Volume, which is 12% Hydrogen Peroxide? I usually get the liquid and soak the entire skull until it gets to the "whiteness" I want, which is usually within a day or two. I wrap the bottom of the antlers to protect them. I also put a cloth or part of an old tee shirt between the antlers on top of the skull to wick the peroxide to the top of the skull. You can also boil (very low boil) the skull in a pot of peroxide for a few minutes and be done with it. That's how I do it.

It’s really not a matter of putting it on and taking it off. You’ll paint it on there and then it’ll dry and basically turn to a powder like coating. Once it’s had a while to dry real good you pretty much just brush it off and do it again if it isn’t white enough.

I just get the regular 3% peroxide and mix a liter with clean water in my boiler and put the skull in it and let it simmer for about 20 or 30 minutes. If you whiten the antler burrs a little, you can color them back with a little provincial colored wood stain.
Yeah c’mon. Daniel White

I get the 40 liquid, wrap the base of the antlers in frog tape, hang em on the side of the shop on a sunny day, and occasionally go out there and spray it on with a $1 spray bottle from dollar general. Just keep doing it till it is white. I don't like mine too white though but most folks do.
