People talking about AU doing well. They are NOT doing well. They where they should be EVERY year. They are where UA should be EVERY year. Throw in occasional really good year for both and that is where we should be with both. No excuse for Troy and South Alabama to consistently better in baseball. I'm at a loss of words to describe Alabama's level of play this year.

.....in a game that doesn't count for SEC.

They love the fact that they're 8-1 in the Capital City Series,... they don't love to tell you that they always pitch their ace and Alabama never does, because they have a series that counts the next couple of days.

Wrong.......again

"This was a hard-fought game by both sides. Alabama went to the bullpen multiple times and even pulled out their Friday night starter for some reason in the 9th inning to keep the Tigers from adding insurance runs. The Tigers kept to their usual mid-week crew and bullpen pitchers for the game that doesn't mean anything other than bragging rights. It doesn't count for the SEC standings".

Copied straight from an article on SBnation. Auburn calls Andrew Mitchell, "mid week Mitch", cause that's all he does.

I didn't go this year, have been every year prior. I guess this year was different

In years past Alabama has gone so far to pitch non pitchers. Yes they go to the bullpen a lot, some years every inning. As to not burn anyone out on a game that doesn't count

I don't know who told you it doesn't count because it very much does. Like playing Enon, Lipscomb, and Fla Atlantic counts. Come regional and super regional, hosting and not hosting, they all count. And no matter how fast or slow you say it a loss is still a loss and hurts.

I'm a Bama fan, but Auburn's ace (Keegan Thompson) is from my high school (Cullman High) so I try to keep up with his performance.

It's got to drive coaches crazy to recruit baseball players. If they get a good one, the pro's are going to throw the money to them.

He left Auburn because he was stuck on the roster behind All American Casey Dunn you retards. Ross hit a walk off homer to put Auburn over FSU in the NCAA Regionals and into the CWS. He is one of the few, if not only players, to play in the CWS with two different teams. Nice try.

And Cam left Florida because he believed in auburn and loved it

Whatever his reason for leaving,.... claiming Ross as an auburn man is gay.

Of course, so is throwing toilet paper in trees to celebrate, but, whatever floats your boat

He considers himself an AU man if you ask him. Letting the kids throw toilet paper after a win is a whole lot better than the tradition of getting drunk after a loss and beating your wife or dog.

I bet he does......

On November 21, 2008, Newton was arrested on felony charges of burglary, larceny, and obstruction of justice on an accusation that he stole a laptop computer from another University of Florida student. He was subsequently suspended from the team.[12] Campus police "tracked the stolen laptop to the athlete...Newton tossed the computer out his dorm window in a humorously ill-advised attempt to hide it from cops."[13] All charges against Newton were dropped after he completed a court-approved pre-trial diversion program. "I believe that a person should not be thought of as a bad person because of some senseless mistake that they made," said Newton in 2010. "I think every person should have a second chance. If they blow that second chance, so be it for them."[14] Newton announced his intention to transfer from Florida three days before the Gators' national championship win over Oklahoma. In November 2010, Thayer Evans of Fox Sports reported that Newton faced potential expulsion from the University of Florida for three instances of academic dishonesty, prior to transferring.[15][16]

No your players just beat their girlfriends and the girls daddy comes to court and says she deserved it. While going out the door, daddy gives the court a big "Row Tahd"!

Or shooting your friend because they weren't upset enough about a loss or putting you nuts in someone's mouth you just beat is a good tradition? I guess you have enough gay experience to judge traditions? Cam went to jr college first then Auburn. He likes Auburn as he comes back often. Funny you jump right to football from a baseball topic.

Nah, I remember

We were

0-4 vs Tennessee
0-4 vs LSU
0-4 vs Auburn

During my 4 years in college, I'm well aware of the down years

My dad was there 76-79, and my little brother 09-12. Not fair, but it is what it is

And back to topic, David Ross refers to himself as an AU man.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'll try to find out if Ross was at the baseball reunion last weekend in Auburn.

I'm sure he was.

I just hope Blake Barnett does well at Arizona State and the NFL so we can claim him

Just like a couple of those national championships where they got beat in the bowl game or the Orrville Daily Sun newspaper named them champions.

1941 was crap. I'm the first to admit that. Wish they'd quit claiming it.

the losing bowl games I don't see how you can help. They awarded the title before the bowls then. Not just for Alabama, for everyone.

central ala,
And Alabama loses another. Believe that makes them 1-7 in the last 8 games. Goff ain't gonna make it. Usually baseball coaches at UA and AU can fly under the radar doing average. They have to do exceptionally well or exceptionally bad to get attention. Both coaches are garnering attention this year....just for opposite reasons.

I'd survive the piling on

The majority of our fans are white trash rednecks who have never been to Tuscaloosa. They are simply fans because they live in Alabama and it's called Alabama. Part of being the flagship state school. That coupled with being traditionally successful, people like winning. ( same as New York Yankees/Mets, and LA Lakers/Clippers, it happens)

Auburn has a much higher percentage of fans who went there, that is the primary reason many are fans of Auburn.

Is that what you want me to say?

I've never denied that, never will

Edit: I will add, those people have as much of a right to pick the team they want to pull for as anyone. More power to them

I refer to those fans as Wal-Mart fans. Everybody likes a winner. Bama is Auburn isn't. At least not to the consistency as Bama. I can count 11 NC's in my lifetime alone, compared to little brothers 1. Roll Tide Roll !!!

I came, I saw, so I killed them all......Vern

I am just glad the auburn nation has something to cheer about.
Seeing Burbank disgruntled has been painful. This time last year, the au faithful on here could only get excited about the softball team(same ones who bashed Bama softball for years).

All of this is true. Id rather have a great team with an embarrassing weekend than have a terrible team with a great weekend.

But did you see the screw job by the 4 blind and apparently deaf umps that would have gotten AU out of the 7th inning but instead gave bammer 2 runs? And yes, they turned right around and blew one the next half inning that gave AU one run. Net gain for bammer, 1 run, which allowed extra innings.

Not crying because that is the way baseball works, but it was a major league screw up and is worth finding the video if you haven't seen it.

yeah, I watched whole game. last few innings alternating which one eye was open.

horrible call, I agree.

both teams should have put it away late in game.

It was pretty ugly in every aspect. Playing, coaching, umpiring. I guess the announcers did OK though. In the end we just out uglied them.

Heard this morning that AU baseball is on a 7-game slide. What the heck happened? Are they going to get it together?

No, they can't get it together. Its in their head now. Can see it in their faces. They got swept....at home....by Alabama. It doesn't get any worse than that. I don't think they were as good as it first appeared and they aren't as bad as it now appears. Overall, the new coach has done real well in year 1.

And you would be correct, 2nd year. Still an acceptable job, especially if he can build on it. I just wish Alabama would get back to where they could fall apart.

Even with the late season skid it is still a much better product than goofball Galloway was putting out. All you can ask for is improvement every year, and that is what they have gotten under Thompson. Hopefully, they can get it together and make some noise in the upcoming tournaments.

I'd like to think that was true. Pretty sure AU destroys us every year in that early game in Montgomery.
