Odd to say the least! He would have taken over the HC job when dad retires which probably wouldn't been much longer knowing his son was waiting on the position. Obviously, there is an issue. Even as an Alabama fan I hope the issue is not softball or health problems because this family has done amazing things for Auburn softball. But whatever it is, it ain't good and wish him the best.

Purely speculating, but it sounds like there is a marital issue that he wants to straighten out. Whatever the reason, it is sad because he was set to take the reins before too long.
