Guess most knew Pat Nix along with super QB / son Bo are going to Pinson Valley . Scottsboro couldn't pay the freight to keep them I reckon. Was fun while it lasted.

Surely Scottsboro could at least equal anything PV could come up with. I don't know how Scottsboro rates as a school but PV gets 3 out of 10 on the great schools rating. PV is not that great at football either. To me it doesn't look like they will "better" themselves, but hey its there choice.

I'm very surprised to hear that. I've probably already posted this but I played HS ball with Pats older brother and his dad was my coach. Patrick was a Freshman when his dad got fired because of politics. His Dad got hired at Etowah and Patrick was their starting QB as a sophomore. I was a senior that year. They beat the brakes off us.

Story is his dad gave up being unpaid defensive coordinator . So Pat goes to new superintendent wanting to hire one . Tells her I'll take about 60k to get a good one. She says find one already in the system. Word on the street he was wanting an excuse to leave. Truth is prolly somewhere in between. Word is also the new Super doesn't like Scottsboro . She did interview for the Huntsville City job or whichever one was open over that way last month.

That's what I heard.

Sucks for Scottsboro but like you said probably somewhere in the middle as far as why it happened.

I seen where Scottsboro brought Don Jacobs back home. He had a few good years while at oneonta, if only he has a 5star top rated QB to bring with him

Bo's been enrolled at PV since right after the original announcement, right? I thought he had went on down instead of finshing the school year here.

Not only did Scottsboro lose a good coach and Super QB, but I imagine that the younger Nix son ( junior high-ish age?) will develop into quite a ball player as well. Would have been a nice thing to have for the future. Leave it to Scottsboro to screw up a good thing. It was fun while it lasted though.

If Nix is a good coach he won't be at PV long. Other school system with money will take him away.

A little birdie told me he had already interviewed for a job at Opelika High since taking the PV job. He will eventually make it back to AU. I hope Bo is there with him. CD.
