Apparently Arkansas had a 5lb crappie caught last week and Illinois has a 4lb 8oz now. I'd chit down both legs if I reeled in a crappie remotely close to that weight. I do remember my mom catching a 3lb 4oz crappie back in the late 60s/early 70s here on Guntersville. It sho was good! I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time. NRA Life Member

klay 10 point K Joined: Oct 2014 Posts: 4,021 Guntersville	I caught a 2 lb 15oz on guntersville a few years ago. Caught it on a carolina rigged lizard during a bass tournament. When I realized it was a crappie, I decided I would mount it if it went 3lbs. 1 oz shy, I let it swim off.

Wish I'd have mounted it but I ate it instead. One thing those pictures don't do justice to is the girth of the big ones. They look like they have shoulders they're so thick. One day the right woman will come along and the next thing you know you'll be wearing her underwear!
