I went to the eye doc last week and had my prescription updated for the first time in a while. It was way out of date. I was going to need bifocals for total vision so I opted to keep my contacts at distance and wear readers. The good news is I'm back to 20/15 with the contacts. The problem is I need readers for anything out to about 4-5 feet or so. So I need some decent + 125 reading glasses. My wife bought me some Foster Grants but the lenses seem pretty foggy and I'll have to get use to wearing them at work with the computer.
I'm having a pair of contacts sent that are set up for Mono-vison, The dominant eye is distance and the other is up close but I'm not real confident in those. I'm left eye dominant but I learned to shoot right handed with that eye closed so I can't shoot with them.

I buy several packs of three for $7.97 a pack at Wally World and have a pair in every vehicle, my nightstand, my computer desk, even the bathroom where more reading is done than anywhere. You get the point.
Granted they are not as nice as good ones from the optometrist, but after leaving an expensive pair on an airplane, I opted for the cheaper and more convenient route.
Now, If I can only convince all my favorite restaurants to keep a pair on hand for me, I'll be Ok. Those menus can get hard to read by candlelight.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I've been getting some plastic frame ones at Dollar General. They are $6 each and much more durable and comfortable than the Foster Grants which I've used for years. I'd tell you the name on the frame but I don't have another pair of readers to read it I've started my collection. I went to Lowes Saturday and I could see the stuff I wanted from across the store but when I went to try and read the application instructions I had to ask someone.

That was exactly where I noticed it about a year ago. That's a heck of a business plan. Keep a cheap rack of readers. Every place with a menu or any place that sells things with instruction should have one.

Matt, I buy all my readers at Dollar Tree for $1 each.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Matt, I buy all my readers at Dollar Tree for $1 each. Swampy, I've tried those and can't get a pair to last more than a week or two. I'm tough on them though with the constant take them off and put them back on a minute later.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

The fifties are hard on eyes for sure. I can't hardly read a standard sterrit dial anymore.

I have a practically new 8" Mitutoyo vernier caliper in my box that hasn't seen light in several years. Most of my measuring tools are digital these days.

I guess it's time for me to invest in readers as well. I truly realized it when trying to read a serial number in something and had to take a picture with my phone and enlarge the picture.
