Here you go guys:
Take 3 medium-large potatoes, cut into fairly thin medallions, toss in a bowl with oil/salt/pepper/garlic powder
Spray a 9"x13" casserole dish with non stick spray and evenly distribute potatoes along the bottom, overlap is fine
Take your ground hamburger mix, I like leaner for hamburger steak, and make patties
Coat patties in flour and sear in a pan with oil. After both sides are browned, lay the patties on top of the potatoes.
Slice up onions and put them on top of the patties. Season with salt and pepper.
Make 1 package of brown gravy that you find at the store, them pour the gravy over the hamburger and potatoes. Cover with tinfoil and bake at 350 for about 50 minutes until the potatoes are tender.

This is going on my to-try list. I wouldn't be afraid to slice some bell pepper and carrots up in there. It's basically a different version of a hobo dinner.

If you want a good hamburger steak, put a pouch of Lipton onion soup mix in your meat. I add either Lipton onion or mushroom soup mix to my venison burgers when I grill and it really keeps them moist!

I love hamburger steak. I eat it regularly on this LC diet.
I usually grill my steaks over charcoal and while that is doing I cook 4-5 slices of bacon, remove and let crisp up on a towel, then cook my onions and peppers in the bacon fat. I then remove the onions and peppers and use whats left to make gravy. I have used coconut flour and it is ok (not as good as white flour, but I try to avoid it). Dump the burgers into the pan with the onions, peppers, and gravy. I crumble up the bacon and sprinkle on top after it is on the plate.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

I'll be doing this soon, but I'm thinking toss a bunch of fresh mushrooms on top along with the onions.

Use a big oven proof skillet. Fry burgers to medium on high heat to get some good juices and crisps. Remove. Then lightly saute some onions in grease. Remove.
Then dump in some seasoned flour (1/4-1/2 cup depending on amount of gravy you want) and brown in grease for a roux, adding some oil if needed. Stir until a deep brown but not burned. Add 2 cups water and 1 cup milk, whisk to smooth over medium heat. You want it pretty liquidy at this point, so add as required.
Add HB steaks and onions and toss in gravy...salt, pepper and garlic as needed. Add some more water as needed.
Cover with lid and bake at 300 degrees for 1.5 hours.
Oh yeah!
