Easy to answer. Go to a gun store and tell them your budget and start holding the different guns in that price range. The one that feels best to you is your new gun. You should be given lots of options in your range. Remember you are not looking for a target gun when you are looking for a ccw you should be more concerned about comfort and reliability. If you are wanting something to impress people at the range or something that is tacti-cool looking then the budget will be blown away.

Your budget is going to be way more limiting than the list of available options.

"Whats the best Pistol for concealed carry?"
One that you will actually carry with you all the time. This right here. The most effective weapon is the one you have on you. I carry a little SW Bodyguard, but I know guy's that carry full 45s as their daily carry gun. Find out what you'll carry and can shoot straight.

I'm a fan of the glock .9mm and .380 for a reliable and smaller style gun. I personally carry a glock model 30 (.45) or my colt .45. I'm a big guy so I can get away with it. I carry inside waist band. How/where you carry will also be a factor. Just make sure it's a gun you will enjoy carrying so you will have it when you need it.

Nothing says you can't tote a second gun either. It all goes to training. Most average people in their day to day life do not need to be carrying a second gun. Sure they can and I don't care if they do but that is unnecessary as most of us live very mundane lives.

I have a S&W Shield 9mm. I need to get a good holster I like, no luck thus far. Does yours have the crimson trace on it? I can't find a good one that will fit it...

Find someplace to rent and shoot some different guns and then decide every gun fits and feels a little different to different people!
