Bengal makes good stuff. I bought some powder from domyownpestcontrol.com that works great.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Acephate granules, mix with water in a pump sprayer. Get it on Amazon or the co-op. Alot cheaper than those diluted powders.

According to this University study, Spectracide OR a dilution of Orange Oil and Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with water seemed to work. Make your own judgement, I haven't tried either, yet. You all know I'm a fan of Dawn on wasp nests from way back, and the first two studies piqued my interest.

These 2 are "drench" methods:

If you want to use a prepared broadcast chemical agent, some of these are not safe near your food garden or orchard for a period of time:

I'm no fire ant expert, I'm just killing time waiting for Anastasia to get home. grin
I don't know pest control from Shinola. Interesting reads, though. thumbup

If you'll put cheese on those grits, they'll like 'em better, especially with a side of fish and hushpuppies and slaw.
