I'm trying to plan a float trip to fish hatchet creek from 280 to 231.my question is is there a place to park at the 231 bridge. Looking at Google earth there's a truck parked right beside the bridge but can't tell and it's been year's since I've been through there. Thanks for any advice.

That's a pretty long trip for one day of fishing. Are you planning to camp out?

That's a pretty long trip for one day of fishing. Are you planning to camp out? I has heard it was a one day float but after looking at on the map it looked like it would be about a 10 or 11 hour float especially if I fished . So yes I would probably camp one night. On Google earth it looks like there's some nice Sandy banks on some of the inside bends that I could camp on but they might but under water this time of year. I also read there are some southern walleye in hatchet creek.

I have done that float before. You have to make sure there is plenty of water flowing and it is an all day trip. We did it the first week of march one year. Put in at daylight and floated all day. Did nothing but paddle and no fishing for the last hour of daylight to make it to the takeout before dark. It is a beautiful float and some good fishing. Fish the eddys with a UL crankbait and the laydowns with a trick worm.

I'm interested. Is there anywhere in between to put in or take out??
