If you observe them doing a certain thing one day, do you have any reasonable expectation that they will do it every day, every other day, with what frequency?

I've been hunting an area because I've found turkey sign in a very particular location starting last year. I've seen the same sign in the same place and yesterday I saw exactly the path this gobbler is taking. He didn't hang around, it was like he was going somewhere but I'm pretty sure I can catch him there I just don't know if he will be there everyday or if it's the same time of day.

I think yes. Ive killed a bunch of gobblers due to seeing them at the same place more then twice! Dont let him live thru his 3rd visit!

Turkeys will a lot of times roost in the same areas but sometimes they will travel south one day then fly down and go north the next morning.

That's about as good a answer as you'll probably get.

Right, I figured as much but whatever direction they decide to go will they take the same route for a given direction?

My second bird this year I had on cam on a hardwood ridge road from 11:30-1:30 three out of the last five days. I went in at 9:30 with my lunch, called about every 30 minutes, he came at 11:30.

Only one way to find out, be there and see what happens, I've seen some in a particular place one day and killed him the next morning but it doesn't happen every time

Unfortunately I can't go hunt whenever I want, which would be every day, so I have to try to figure out what the right day to be there is.

Only one thing I know for sure to be true about a gobbler.... he doesn't know what he's gonna do until he does it.

Gobblers have no idea what they are doing or where they are going which makes them seem mighty smart

Yes but it is seasonally driven.

During breeding season they break up (especially the Gobblers). He will ease up and down logging roads, ridges, etc by himself looking/listening for hens and gobbling all the way. This is the best time to call them in and kill them. Especially younger birds.

Once he is with hens and breeding this is the hardest time to call and kill him.

Once he has breed them and they lay and hens are sitting on eggs from about 10-3 then he is again much more callable/killable.

The timing of the this will vary based on region, terrain, weather, hunting pressure, predator intervention, etc.

Good luck.
