Anyone else have one of these?

Not sure if I am going to keep or trade. I added the safety delete. Handy little 4 wheeler gun I think.

I waffled too long back when they were real Marlin's. They (Marlin) called it a Spikehorn and with it's short stock was marketed as a youth gun but I thought it'd be neat to swap a full size buttstock onto it. Was discontinued, at least for a while.

Yea, this is a Remlin, but it seems to function fine. My only gripe is the trigger. Heavy, but not unlike most marlins Ive owned.

I have one. It's a 336y. Nice and handy. Mine is a remlin as well but if you hone up some of the rough spots in the receiver it isn't too bad at all. An upgrade that would do good for that gun is the xs rail with xs sights. Those do wonders for marlins. Here is a link to mine. http://www.aldeer.com/forum/ubbthreads.p...764#Post1965764

Looks handy. I think I would want an Aimpoint H1, or possibly a 1-4 scope on it if it were mine.

Definitely need a low power optic or red dot on a short handy gun like this. The only reason I had a 3-9 On the one in my pic is because it is all I had laying around. Will be moving a 1-4 vortex crossfire over to it soon.

Those triggers can be made to break very ... uh, "cleanly" grin

I have an older JM 336 that I cut the barrel back to 16" and whittled the fore end down to make it thinner like what you'd find on a 94 Winchester. That's a super short 30-30 and it handles very well.

I have an original Marauder that is now a safe queen but I use to hunt with it all the time. Handy as a shirt pocket up a tree in thick cover.

An 18" Texan in 35 Remington would be about the holy grail for me right now.

I have a JM stamped Marlin 30/30 I had the barrel clipped and crowned at 16" and it has a Leupold 1-4x shotgun scope on top a XS rail. Scope is mounted in Burris Zee Super Lows. My favorite woods <100yd gun. I use it in a lot of my bow stands come gun season. Very handy. Nosler Partition 170gr bullets & 30gr of IMR 3031 will punch a hole through both shoulders and give me great accuracy.

I've got a Winchester 30-30 Saddle Ring Carbine that is kind of like that . I keep it on the gun rack in my truck usually.
