That's a great keepsake that you have. I've always wanted one but never forked over the cash. I bet there's no telling how many critters you've taken with it.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Good memory, I got an old sxs .410 made in 1915. My son is only 5 days old but one day I'll pass it down to him!

Geezer you ought to write it all down. One day your grandsons will read your stories and you will be right there with them. My mother wrote the story of her life. Lots of stuff in there I never knew about her, my father and my family.

Good story Geezer. I wish you'd post one a day. I love reading them when you do.

Well written, Bobby. I had a Fox, dbl. 410. When I moved up to a 16, we traded it in to save some $. Really think that if I had it now, I'd sleep with it at night. Good story.

Dang good idea. I'd give anything for something like that from my grandparents.

I have a 410 with rabbit ears that belonged to my grandfather who said it belonged to his father. HR Harrington. Great condition, was offered $3000 for it a couple years ago but I wouldn't part for 10 times that much. I'm 73 so you can only guess how old it is.

The coolest part of this story to me is that Bobby was able to walk by himself to the Hardware Store and pick up the gun (downtown Greensboro I'm guessing) at such a young age and walk home with the gun.

Imagine the stir that a young man walking through town there now would cause.
