been on the tractor the last two days, broke the hard pan in my garden yesterday pretty good. Went over it today with a six foot disc to break it up. Looking good.

I put some composted leaves/chicken litter/dirt over it last week and disced it in today on the right side where the dirt is poorer. I have amended the soil in this spot for the last six years, finallly getting better looking dirt.

Seeds in the ground next week.

Sounds like a good plan man. I finished up seed planting yesterday. Best of luck with the garden.

headed to the seed store for some lime to disc in this afternoon. I think I'm going to do my fertilizer different this year and NOT broadcast it, will side dress all my plants instead.

I plant about about a 1/3Acer. I plant peas, corn, squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers onions, taters, pole beans and a whole bunch of desert king yellow water melons. I always hoe in a bit of fertilize in when I plant and then fertilize again after the plant gets up and going really good. I generally start with 13 13 13 then a little different fertilize on the 2nd app. I always plant seed. Very rarely Will I spent money on set plants. I got as almost everything in the ground this week. Gonna try to finish planting this evening if I can get off my butt. Bloodtrail had me out on lay lake this morning at 6 doing my best kvd impression. Good luck to everyone on their planting.

Got a bunch of oak leaves I just raked. Would they be good to till in or would they make the soil acidic

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

From all I have learned, they don't make the soil acidic but leaves are best tilled into the garden in the fall. That way they don't compete with your plants for nutrients in decomposition.

I rake my phone straw/red oak leafs up in my yard and use it to mulch around my maters and melons. I turn it all under in the fall and spread my lime.

Started tilling my 12 yr olds garden spots this afternoon, was going good until I broke the pto shaft. I got enough done to get a few rows of squash and zucchini in next week. He loves farming and making money
