I've got some plots with sure enough red clay, you could make bricks out of it. If it's wet you can't work it and if it's dry, it's like concrete. It will grow some serious clover however Yea, I have the same red clay. I use to hunt on Ed Sellers property all the way up to his house. I know what you mean. It'll grow pines and azaleas also. But it can be worked. Got to break the hard pan and stick with it. Disc plow works well...or as good as can be expected.
