What's up guys! Man I'm excited for this season. Where is everybody hunting? I'll be only hunting Alabama. I've got two small pieces of private land to hunt and I may be joining a club this Sunday that I can hunt this turkey season. Along with wma and the national forest.

Bout that time fellas! I'll be hunting Marshall and Madison counties here in Alabama. Going to Florida first week of April and Kentucky after that. Hoping to squeeze in a trip to Georgia at some point but I may be trying to save my marriage by then...haha. Good luck to all and be safe!

Checking in ladies, name doesn't matter to me just ready to thump one in the noggin! Went and listened at our family tract last Thursday and was pleased with what I heard there. Planning on trying to get out tomorrow and do a little more recon. Hopefully I'll be adding one to the scoreboard Wednesday morning.

I'm off for the next 6 days. It's just the way my schedule falls so I'll be after them hard to start the season. I've got a greenfield staked out where they've been coming in regularly. I'm gonna start close to there and hope one or two sound off.

I'll be out in the morning too. My boys have called the spot where 3 have been showing most every morning with a flock of hens. I'll try a bird that's been by himself strolling down a road in the afternoons. Going to see if I can hear him gobble in the morning and change his routine..

I didn't hear a gobble this morning. Around 8:30 I rounded a bend in the road and saw a gobbler strutting in the road with a hen. They were about 80 yards out and didn't spook too bad. Just fast walked into the timber. I feel like he'll be close in the morning. So that's where I plan on starting. Good luck tomorrow guys!

Got close too this morning. Had one gobbling his head off when a hen sneaks in behind me clucking her head off. It fired him up but she skirted around me to him. Then he shut up. Going to try him again in the morning.

I am not in the woods this morning but I'll be after them for the next 4 days.

They didn't start gobbling till a little later than the last two mornings but when they did start it was on. Gobbled non stop. Got a call from work about 7:30 so had to cut it short.

My son killed the bird I've been after. Probably a good thing for me. He was giving me fits. I can't hear them walking in leaves and the drumming sounds. That's what him killed this morning because my son has good ears. Lol

Congrats to your son Earl. Gobbled good this morning but couldn't do much with them. Had 3 jakes and a hen come check out the calling and decoys and that was about it.

I have been all over them to open the season but haven't been able to close the deal. I got close Friday, missed Saturday and today I worked a bird that didn't gobble but 6 or 7 times between 630 and 9 and wouldn't budge from his spot.

Sounds like your luck's bound to change soon southwood. Will be after them again in the morning at a new spot with my brother behind the gun. I'll have mine as well so maybe we'll be fortunate enough to double up.

I can't complain because of been on birds, I would sure like to get #1 out of the way though. Got close again this morning and had a guy drive in on me at 8am and scare the gobbler off. Very frustrating to say the least.

I've been slacking the last couple of mornings, will be out there tomorrow morning. Not leaving till I'm walking out with a bird.

Wore the boots out till 11 this morning. Heard a couple of distant gobbles and saw 4 hens. Sure was slow.

I sent this morning also. I sat up on a bird that gobbled one time one the roost.... and he never made another sound.

Went to a lease that I haven't gone to this year. I set up in a hardwood and cedar Bottom. Hear one fire up and gobble about 20 times on roost. He flys down in neighbors pasture. So I call to him but no response. My calling got some hens fired up behind me so I put my call down to let them do the work. Sure nuff the gobbler starts my way. He gets to about 100 yards where I see him strutting then starts walking towards another part of my neighbors pasture. I call one more time sort of soft. I see him stop and look my way then he just takes off running back where he came from. Wondering if I should've just let him keep looking for me and me not call that last time. He's a real good looking bird. What would you guys have done.

Well, that's turkey hunting! I probably would have done the same thing. Those crazy birds don't know what they are going to do until they do it. I am working nights this weekend, I got off at 630 and headed to the woods. Somebody was parked where I wanted to go so I just came on home. I'll try again in the morning.

I've been out of the woods for few days but I'll be back it soon. I'm planning on hunting Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

This morning was the first morning I've been and didn't hear the first gobble in a LONG time. My brother was with me and he said he heard a faint gobble across the road but I didn't hear it. Oh well. Nothin to do but keep on keepin on.

Congrats to the killers! I've been working 4 on 1 off since February but just started my last 4 day stretch. It's game on after that. Pretty much have the whole month of April off. Good luck guys

Probably gonna get after it in the morning and see if I can do any good. These jokers sure have been tight lipped the last week or so.

Haven't been since Sunday morning, should have had another one dead but he eventually went quiet and I decided I needed to get to church cause the good Lord's been better to me than any turkey ever has been. Hope everyone is having some luck.

I haven't been able to go much this week. I got close to killing one Tuesday morning but he slipped away from me. I'll be in the woods the next 3 mornings Lord willing.

#1 down...finally! This has been the toughest season for me by far. Haven't heard the first gobble on my place in Madison county where I usually kill 2 birds every year. Struck out in Florida even though we had a great trip and some good hunts. Came real close to getting it done but of all things a dang eagle ruined it for me. Headed to Kentucky this weekend so maybe I can get a couple more. 17lb 6oz, 9.5" beard, 3/4" spurs

Hitting public land, bow only Friday. Can't wait. Congrats Linz

Good job Linz! I'm still stuck on 1. I've been close several times in April but hunting pressured birds has proven to be very tough.

Congrats linz. I haven't killed since opening day. After tomorrow I'm going to hunt pretty hard until the end of season and try to get a second bird.

Weather has sucked on my off days. May go in the rain tomorrow. Haven't decided one way or the other. Public land, with a bow, in the rain is not an entertaining combo

Again, weather sucked. Went today and heard zero. Had to work, so had to leave. Trying a new public place Monday. Not many birds where I've been hunting. They're some, but not many. New place should have more. Still trying....
