birds still arent gobbling one my properties, I haven't heard a turkey gobble on the roost in over 2 weeks. I did however get one struck up at 11 on saturday and killed him at 11:35. Also called one up for my wife on Thursday morning and she killed him at 8 steps. I almost caught a jake this morning after 4 of them ran in and attacked me and my reaping decoy. I thought they were 4 gobblers at first. only seen 5 to the barrel so far but theres still alot of hunting left

Congrats guys on the kills guys! I have been getting after them, but I'm hoping I haven't picked up a jinx. So far it has been rough, But it should turn around soon.

Any of you goobers got any trips lined up this year? I'm headed to KY and SD/WY in May.

I haven't even set up on a bird or even hardly called. I don't know whats going on, I've seen all these lone hens and the gobs are not existent. I refuse to hunt a turkey thats not gobbling, its more like punishment to have to sit there and deer hunt one. I also made a mistake, I didn't get a picture with myself and my last turkey.

TM, It sounds like we are hunting the same birds. there has only been one turkey shot total on our 1700ac lease. Same sightings of lone hens, very little scratching, very little sign in roads , strutting zones. They are there, just not doing much of anything. I'll deer hunt them if I have to, but they just aren't cooperating at all. It has and continues to be rough. I'm still getting up and going every chance I get, not going to give up, but it is wearing on me. Hope your season turns around brother.

same to you man, it's been slow for everyone around our area, most people that I know haven't even killed one. this year and last year have been the worst two seasons as far as being vocal that I can remember. hopefully everyone can finish strong

Guys, my season just went from dismal to terrible and possibly over... my 4yo lil man jumped off the slide at school and broke his arm, he might have possibly broke the head of his radius in his elbow and possibly his injured shoulder also. the xrays on the arm showed a bad break on his ulna. we will more than likely have to have an MRI of his shoulder and elbow to rule out any fractures or injuries there. If I get a chance I'm still going to hunt, but things are not looking good at this point, and getting his arm fixed and him well is my priority. I am Sorry I have not had much to contribute to the team at this point, but our world just got turned upside down... If y'all get a chance we could use a few prayers for lil Man.

Well guys, I hate to be the weak link, but I guess I'm gonna be that guy this year.

I lost my local spot on the day before the opener, by basically being outbid by a local who's one of those who likes to use money to control everything. That's another story for another day, but finding a property in my area that holds birds is a tough feat. Between that and some other things I've had going on, I've written this season off.

I hate that I wasn't able to contribute and help out. Congrats to you guys that have had success.
