This bird didnt trust those decoys and he had spotted my fat butt so he froze up at 20 yds and starred us down for bout 3 minutes, he whirled and started to bug out and i let him have it. Some in the lower neck and chest but several pellets went to the leg and wing area. That #9 tss just destroyed his bones. [img:center][/img] [img:center][/img]

Had a pretty good start so far guys, got to watch 2 more turkeys die this weekend. that's 3-4 hunts. unfortunately they weren't for me as I had to guide some LA hunters. I think I may sneak out for an hour or two and hit my little spot here close to town and see if I can get one to crank up. if not, then in the AM will be my next go at it

congrats man, I've had a rough go since the week has begun, yesterday I didn't hear a thing and didn't hear anything this morning. Ran into a guy hunting my henry county track this morning, he was on his property but his decoys were in my fire break. our conversation wasn't too friendly, then to top it off I walk to my next spot only to find a big black and tan dog in the middle of the food plot..... and I wonder why I haven't heard a turkey there yet

congrats crenshaw, I called up 3 different birds this weekend within 45 yards and not a single one died. wife missed one at 28 steps, shot right over him, and I had two at 45 yards with my 410 and ran out of time, before I had to go to work. I can promise you my 410 isn't coming back out of the safe and the 12 ga will be in my hands the rest of the season
