Per their Facebook page they are to start testing loads to sell to the public. I can't imagine what they'll have to charge for them.

Sounds like it is about time to stock up on a lifetime of shot I guess.

I said it was only a matter of time last year. Didn't take as long as I figured.

Already got a lifetime supply so I'm good. I imagine if they are successful in making them then TSS shot will start going up.

Depending on the amount currently imported, the costs could very well go down. Think of it this way. If the shipping company is currently shipping 1 ton, how much more is it going to cost to ship another 500 pounds? A huge cost of most imports is the shipping costs. Once you're shipping a decent volume, the unit costs start going down.

I see they are starting out with 7.5 shot because it's legal for most hunters. I wonder what kind of numbers a 3.5" shell with TSS #9 would put up?

I didn't play with the 9s very much, but got 50% in the 10. I got 60% of the 7.5s in the 10, though.

83% of all statistics are made up.

There are dozens of tungsten suppliers so it shouldn't have any effect on price

The thousands of people who are shooting them now have lowered prices if anything. There are a lot of people orderering direct and bringing prices way down these days. I quit shooting nitro ammo due to them being over pressure and the components failing due to that.

Except there are only 3 operation mines for tungsten and maybe 1 or 2 suppliers in China and 1 I believe in Europe. Supply isn't going up anytime soon but Demand will go up once if the big ammo companies start making them. Also China is notorious for raising their prices on raw materials when they see an uptick in exports which in the end I think will keep big ammo from diving into Tss to much but just the initial trial run might be enough for a short term increase in the next few years.

Rochhound they all come from the same place ship out the same port. Unless you FedEx it and then it just fly's lol. But hell when your dealing with China it's coming from just a few people they have a bunch of names on alababa or whatever you call it but in the end it's the same.

As long as I can get components I'll load my own. I truly don't see nitro improving or loading anything better than what we're already loading.

Tungsten is a commodity metal just like lead, silver, copper, etc. The price is for the most part subject to global influences much more influential than turkey hunting. We have seen TSS price come down a bit in the last year or so because the commodity price of tungsten is down. And when the commodity price of tungsten goes back up, so will the price of TSS. IMO, the cost of shot will not be affected by Nitro's decision to load TSS. They will just get a better price because they can buy it in bulk.

And just as it is cheaper to hand load copper bullets than it is to buy factory bullets, I suspect it will be cheaper to hand load TSS vs buy from Nitro.

I doubt it will have any effect on anything other than a spot on the web site and their pocket book.

Alot of people dealing with it now in the states, I dont see how anyone could make alot on it. Usually the cost of the product plus shipping getting it here is within 10 dollar a pound.

While 10 dollars a pound seems like a good profit, you almost always selling in smaller quantities, so you have to always check your quality coming in and reweigh it in smaller batches per order. Plus the out of pocket cost.

Wouldn't be worth my time, for a small market. And then I doubt many have loads that are tested, unless they are just using Hals loads he asked not to share and used his time and money to make.
