After this seasons drought it got me thinking about trying to water my food plots. I don't have big food plots so it shouldn't take a lot for me to water but I would have to buy a water tank and sprayer. Anyone else water there food plots in the fall? Any thoughts of watering food plots?

central ala,
I don't see it being affective short of a hose and sprinkler. A fire truck would work probably. Most pumpers will hold at least 500 gallons. Spraying from a pull type tank I don't think would give enough volume. Plus you would be driving over the crop. As you might can tell, I've thought about it before.

central ala,
Think about this:

1 inch of rain on 1 acre = 27,154 gallons of water.

Yeah I wasn't sure how much it would take or how effective it might be

I spent bout $100 watering a 1/4 acre or so field this fall. Only seen one damn deer in it all year. They wore it out at night while there were no other fields growing though.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I would wait on the rain. If you watered it just enough to get it to germinate and we had an extended dry period like the past year your seedlings will die and you have wasted your money and time.
