Is this a hog track or a heavy deer track? I thought I was confident in what deer tracks of all types looked like, but these have me thrown. Never had hogs on our place before, but I do know there some folks trapping them just a few miles down the road.

looks deer...pointed and not rounded and usually hog dew claws will be beyond the outside borders of the hoof edge while running

Looks like deer to me. Not rounded enough for a hog IMO.

I'm no expert but I would say deer as well. Good size track as well

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Thanks guys. For some reason I just wanted to be sure it wasn't a hog. I have to say I have not seen many deer tracks that spread out so it does appear to be a heavy bodied sucker. We had a nice 10 hanging around our place this past season so perhaps it's him. Got some cameras out on mineral blocks and feeders so maybe I'll get a picture.

I say deer too. A hog track will be almost round

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Thanks for the visual Boff. Much more rounded and dew claw on a hog looks much larger than a deer's.

Looks like the 4 toed chupacabra.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
