I guess I'm probably a 1 on a narrow-mindedness scale of 1-10.
I tend not to hate entire groups of people because of what their government did in the past or because of what a small percentage of them have done. If I did, I would probably hate Americans, because Americans and the American government has done some pretty crappy stuff in the past. But I don't. I loved America enough to serve my country, and was fortunate enough to have never had to kill anyone from any of those other countries while in her service.
I guess I just don't understand all the hate all the time. When you hold hate in your heart against another person or group it is a burden and a cancer in your own heart, and 99% of the time that other person could care less and sometimes they even thrive on it.
It's a struggle and it is something that I have to work on everyday. It is easy to hate and hard to forgive and to love.
Jesus never taught us to hate other people that I can recall, but does say that, "...the greatest of these is Love."

I'm somewhere around a 5. My problem is I'm very opinionated, hard headed and I will stand up for what I believe in, even when I'm the only one standing. Unfortunately I don't look at labels much because we make so little in the USA anymore. Love me some Chinese and Mexican food as well.

jbc you do realize that you said you've imposed a ban on some things you deem as "sucks" when someone else may not think so. So Everyone was/is the correct wording to use Everyone has their own ban or refuse to use products or even actors they refuse to watch. I stopped eating Frito-Lay and Nabisco products because of their involvement in the homosexual movement. F-L made rainbow colored Doritos (which were my favorite)and Oreo followed suit. There are too many actors to list that I wont watch. I try to by American as often as I can but some times that's just not possible or the cost just doesn't add up to do it I have no products I won't buy or actors I won't watch because of any beliefs or political stances. So not everyone If it's good or I enjoy it, I use it. If it sucks, I don't
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

Obviously I "ban" things I don't like But not for any reason other the quality of the product I'm not not wearing or eating or buying something because of any political views If it's good, I'll use/consume it. If not, I wont

One of the worst things about our society these days is how bias we’ve become. Folks seem to just pick a political side and then put on the blinders. It's like no one is able to assess something on the true merits anymore. If the person you like did it then it’s good….if the other person did it, it’s bad. If Hillary was in this same position of being suspected of being in bed with the Russians as well as having just got a soldier killed in a botched raid……this forum would be melting down right now with threads. Let the shoe be on the other foot though and it’s all good, we’ll just let that slide. It’s no different with the other side. Rail on folks for 8 years for not accepting Obama as Pres and then the very minute the current election is over, you’re in the street claiming “not my Pres!”. Bias fellas….bias. We the people are worse than the media themselves.

Some have seen the metaphor in my post some haven't. I realized a long time time ago that narrow mindedness is just plain silly. You will a can make others miserable by being so hard headed. I sure have. But I also believe that you have to stand for something or you will fall for anything. So I'm against cats in the house.

I see where you're coming from. I subscribe to the same thing but honestly I can be swayed. One thing I haven't done is go back into a Target since they went to that gender neutral BS on bathrooms. It's my small protest. But things like Wal-mart. I hate em. Can't stand Wal-Mart. Having said that, when they beat everybody's prices on a set of tires by 150-200 bucks, dammit...as much as I hated to do it, I bought from them. Twice.
I know Starbucks is about as liberal as you can be but we go there sometimes not for the overpriced coffee, but more for the conversation with friends that we always see there.
I love my Benelli shotgun and eat lasagna even though the Italians fought against us in WW2.
I'm telling on myself here but I get your point. It's tough to 100% avoid all companies and products who's policies are in opposition to our beliefs.
