who here does the Fantasy Football thing? I've never done it in the past, but a couple of cousins and friends are always trying to get me to join their league. I'm thinking about giving it a go this fall.
Anyone got any general tips or pointers as far as drafting and setting line-ups?
There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

If you want to be good you got to study what’s going on and who’s putting up points. It’s not always about the big name players. Leagues are usually won on the waiver wire as the season goes on. You want players that are on good teams. You want players that are on teams that put up a lot of points. It doesn’t matter how good a player may be if their team only averages 10 points per game.

We started a league on the QDMA forum that I’ve participated in for the last 6 years. I went to the championship game in year 3 but lost. I ended up facing the same guy in the championship this year and won it in the last minutes of the last game of the week. Now that they’ve done away with the QDMA forum, I guess that will be our final year. It’s fun stuff though if you’re a competitive person. It makes watching NFL games much more interesting too. You’ll find yourself watching some game you would have never cared about in the past just because you’ve got a guy on one of the teams or to scout for waiver wire pickups….bench depth.
I always wanted to do a “buy in” league to make it more interesting but everyone couldn’t get on the same page being scattered all over the country. My idea though was 12 teams at $100 each. The champion wins a $1000 and the runner up gets $200.

buddy of mine does some huge national pay league....cost him like $3-4k to get in, but he won it last year and won $50k in the process.

Also, CNC...you should look into getting the venmo app for your phone...we use it to gather and payout the money for the leagues I'm in with my buddies all across the south...it's easy to use

that's our set up. but we do live draft, and last years champion is responsible for food for the next years draft.
