1. I have a pavilion attached to my pool house. For the two years i have owned it, I get little birds roosting on my ceiling fans and nesting in the corners. The crappie everywhere. Anyone got any ideas how to keep them out?

2. Wasps. Anyone have luck with the traps?

1)The fake dollar store snakes tack them to the wall

2) kill them when they show up

Before BhamFred sees this thread,260 the birds&wasps i recommend 120 grain Accutips. Seriously either BB gun the birds and Dawn soap the wasps.

Only hits count.

No crappie. What I do have is a new phone with auto correct that doesn't know the difference between crappie and crap. Lol.

I thought this was a load of crap when I first read it, but it works like a champ. I keep a wide mouth pint jar available for just this thing. Mix the soap into the water but don't get it all sudsy, then just toss it on the nest and the stupid spawn of satan, easy peasy all dead in a matter of a few seconds. Works way better than wasp spray in my opinion.

I did the dawn soap trick last year and it kills them, but I want to stop them from building nests to start with.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. You've got it all backwards.

Dawn Soap the birds and BB gun the wasps. It works best if you are at point blank on both.

And be sure to have someone video it.

I do the same thing, except I use gas and 2 stroke oil. None ever live, ever.

On the Dawn Soap trick, you can reach under the very high eaves of your house by putting it in a pump-up sprayer and setting the nozzle to a very coarse and concentrated pattern. That soap washes through their oily exoskeleton and effectively "drowns" them in place.

I had read once that WD-40 will keep wasps from building back. Supposedly you spray the area where the nest was after you remove it. Never tried it myself though.
