Will be reloading for a Ruger M77 .223 for my 8 year old daughter to shoot. Planning on Barnes TTSX 50 grain, Win brass. I think the barrel is 1:12 twist.

I have these powders on hand: Varget (a lot), H4350, IMR4895.

Give me suggestions about these powders for .223 or others that yall suggest.

H335 is dang fine powder for .223/5.56

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I use h335. I usually buy 8lbs at a time

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

H335 is a good powder but is kinda dirty. The Military switched to Ramshot TAC years ago because it burns cleaner. I've used both H335 and TAC and prefer TAC. CFE 223 is also a very good powder and will give a little more velocity, it just isn't as accurate in my gun.

Don't discount BL-C(2). It's super accurate in my triple deuce and my 308. An old powder that is usually cheaper by a few dollars on the shelf than the others... yet still performs. It's my go-to powder in my 308 hunting load.

Use the Varget and H4895. Don't waste money or time buying other powders if you've already got that on hand. Plus Varget and/or H4895 will be much less temp sensitive than what others are suggesting like H335, 748, etc

You're likely going to get better SD/ES numbers with the Varget, but I occasionally get better SD/ES with H4895 depending on the bullet and brass I'm using in 223 loads.

H4350 is too slow for 223

Personally for some 50 gr VMAX loads, I had decent luck and good nodes around 26-26.6 gr Varget. As always, work up...each gun is different
