Not a pig farm, but if you are looking for a slaughter hog, I would call russellville stockyard. I just bought and killed 2 that weight about 850 combine, after I killed and processed got about 445 lbs of meat.

Quite a few on Craigslist not too far from you. We are about to get some to raise. We processed ours last year at 315-340 pounds. Much more than that, and the feed to weight ratio is not worth the extra costorage.

The two I just killed weighed 405 and 451, and cost 41 and 35 cents a pound. They turned out great, really cut up nice.

Not sure, I called them delicious. They are almost to cheap right now to spend money on feed. I got less than a dollar a pound total in the meat.

Last year, we raised 1/2 Duroc X 1/2 Yorkshire mix.

Feel free to give me a shout, and I can tell you some of the things that I have learned over the last couple of years raising hogs.

The co op has 14% protein feed for under $7 bag. That, table scraps , squash that gets too big and such.

I have used the hog grower mix that is sold at Coosa Valley in Wilsonville, and it has worked well. I would take it and mix it with water.

I had one done at Reed's. Most of it was good, but I am not a fan of their sausage. I have made the drive the last couple of years to Moulton to get them done at Don Heaps. Best sausage I have ever tried.
