I honestly don't know - I think he was right in pulling the gun to prevent others from ganging up on him.
Many of the kids today have absolutely no respect, and that gang mentality is going to get a hole in one of them.
Personally, I think it was an accidental discharge of the gun.

Wouldn't disparity of force apply here? The officer didn't draw his weapon until he was feeling overwhelmed.
Just as scary are some of the comments at the end of the article that are defending the hood rats at all costs.

They had assualted him and were in large numbers. He was on his property...and he felt threatened.
He did what anyone would have done. In less then 2 seconds that could of went the other way for him if he didnt have a gun.
