I'm I reading the regs right that bobcats and coons go out end of month?

Does anyone use drag style anchors, are they legal in Alabama?

You are correct. Almost anyone can get a permit to trap coons out of season if you have a problem though. Drags are legal here.

I thought Alabama just passed no close season for coons?

I guess I was wrong. I knew they changed it for hunting but didn't know they did for trapping too. Good info, thanks.

I told one of their biologists that they needed to include skunks in that no closed season. What do they expect us to do if we catch a skunk in a coon set? Release him alive? No thanks.

I caught 2 last year and I shot them and left them there until July.

I was thinking about this the other day. Valid point. That'll make you think about breaking a law if you got a skunk in a DP

Another thing about Bobcats. I think if you harvest a bobcat, it has to be reported. This is also in the digest. Guys in a club I was in a while back got a visit from GW after he posted a picture of a trapped cat on Facebook.

Any bobcat harvested, regardless of trapped or shot is supposed to be reported says the regulations. DCNR will send you a tag for it, just call and give them your trapping license # and they will mail it to you. I keep all my cats, but I assume you only need the tag if you are actually keeping the cat for taxidermy or to sell. I have never asked though.

Do you have to have a trapping license if you are not selling pelts?

I love my country, but don't trust my government.

If you are being paid to trap, yes.
