I will be in Adamsville for a four day class in April. Looking at hotels and the closest are Fairfield, Fultondale and Gardendale.

I haven't worked around B'ham in awhile, but recall Fairfield being kind of ghetto. Are Fultondale and Gardendale areas okay to stay in, or should I drive a little further and book a room somewhere else?

Not so much worried about me, as I'll be armed, just don't want my company truck broken into if I can help it.

You are correct. Fairfield is a crap hole. Fultondale or Gardendale aren't bad.

Fultondale is ok, Gardendale would be my pick. Fairfield is ok if you like it in the hood.

Fultondale has more places as far as eating. Plus if you like to have a drink or two with dinner Fultondale is your choice. I think most if not all of restaurants in Gardendale don't serve alcohol.

What's wrong with Fairfield?? As long as you work/go to class during the day and sleep at night, you hardly run into anyone. laugh

No secret gems.. jalisco or porky pride bbq in fdale is good. Other than that, on tap or buffalo wild wings for a cold beer.

Porky pride has a full bar and awesome loaded potatoe skins
