SharpSpur OP 4 point S Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 315 NWest Alabama	I am considering planting several hard and soft mass trees in a 6 acre field that was cleared after 2011 tornadoes. WE have basically let this field just go and only bushhogg it once or twice a year. I have decided to add a 2 acre foodplot in it and plant some trees to make it a little more appealing to wildlife. My question, is it worth the extra money to plant potted trees and gain a year or two or just plant more seedlings and wait a little longer? Considering sawtooths, apples, pears, chestnuts, etc...

BamaPlowboy 10 point Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 2,559 North Alabama	I'd go with bare root, it'll save you on shipping too, unless your picking them up. Put some poly tree tubes around them and keep a weed free strip around them and they'll take off and grow .
