The land I hunt is roughly 38 square miles (about 25K acres), been discussing the deer density here and just sorta calculating how many deer total we could be holding. It's crazy loaded with deer. Just wondering if any of our biologist guys might have some figures for Alabama?
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

Depends on the area. Madison County would consider 15 deer per square mile I believe as good. In North PRV / Jackson county 30 deer per square mile is normal. I have no clue how it runs down south
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

It’s completely site dependent. The numbers they put out are just broad general numbers. I go tracking on different properties within the same counties that have populations that differ greatly depending on how the habitat and herd are being managed.

Bucks range so far I don't see how they can have a hit list on just 900 acres unless it is high fenced. If they can only shoot from the list I see why they didn't kill but 7. Area fidelity. My wall is full of dandies that I had pics of in summer and early fall. Well over 50% of the bucks we kill I have pics of.

If they like an area, there is food, does, water...but most importantly IMO..THICK COVER...and very little PRESSURE...then why will they leave?

At last count, we had 38 different bucks at a feeder this fall by the house. The older bucks won't come up there though so no telling how many of them we have way back there.

That is bucks we kill we have summer pics of. Less than one out of ten is s range shifter. That on 1000 acres

I would guess here where I live in Walker Co it is in the 10-15 per sq mile range. And where I hunt in Fayette Co I would guess it is twice that somewhere in the 20-30 per square mile range.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

In fact in 10 years of running cameras I can only think of a few that we didn't have pics of in late summer/ early fall. Kind of weird. We loose several shooters around late fall, but don't seem to pick up many new bucks.

Would have bet ya'll were pretty high up there, your place just "lays good" and ya'll are doing it right, so they stick around. I don't run many cameras , most of those we kill that I don't have pics of were probably there all along too.
