Try some fusions. They last few boxes of core lokt had all kinds of bad tips on them.. slightly deformed or lead overage hanging off one side. The fusions i havent seen one bad tip on.

There us no way Remington would jeprodise it reputation just to make walmart a cheaper box of ammo and still put the Remington name on it. Walmart can sell it cheaper because they buy ammo by the truck load not by the case.
My 30.06 shoots 165gr corlokts very well nether of my 243s shoot well with them. Only misfires I've heard of have been with 30.30s most of that has been due to the slightly harder primers Remington uses

If you want to wring all the accuracy out of a .308 with factory ammo. typically you should shoot 165gr projectiles.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I had a hornady supermonace cartridge misfire a few years ago on a broadside chip shot on what would have been the best buck I've ever killed. Very wise fella told me that if I cared enough about a stupid deer to be upset over losing one that I was crazy to trust some fella that I had never met who was probably working midnights to load my bullets for me. I took that as wise council and started making my own.

I have shot plenty of deer with Core lokts. I still use them in my 30-30. They have always worked, and honestly I am not aware of a better round nose bullet for short range and heavy brush that I could use in a Marlin 336. (safe with round nose in that type of magazine and all).

That being said, I used to shoot them in my Remington auto just out of habit. When I bought my new Browning Xbolt I switched to Hornady Superperformance SST. I am VERY happy with them so far. But I still shoot Core Lokt in the Marlin. is there really a better bullet for a 30-30 lever gun to use in the brush? I can't think of one.

Core lokts,,,, really are the deadliest mushrooms in the woods,,,

I've slayed many a deer with them,,, they aren't as refined as the high performance polymere/plastic tipped bullets in all the brands but they are just as deadly,,

accuracy is in the set up of your rifle and in the person shooting it,,, there are times though a bad batch comes through,,

At the rate high performance hunting ammo keeps rising in price I'll most likely go back to Remington core lokts ,,

Last year a buddy and I were sighting in his new .308 with Core Lokts, I think it was 5 of the first 8 shells didn't go boom when we pulled the trigger. He switched to Fusion and never looked back. I know they work for some of you, but I'll pass.

New gun was a POS?

I have to disagree. My .308 Remington 788 doesn't do well with anything heavier than 150 grains.

I'm getting 1/2 inch, 3-shot, 100 yard groups with factory loaded CoreLokts. I've never experienced a mis-fire and the performance has been great on deer and pigs.

It shot everything else we fed it, I would be inclined to believe that the Core Lokts were junk. Maybe just a bad batch?

I have used nothing but core lokts in my browning. Even tried reloading and did not get anything to shoot any better. Inexpensive and I have put a lot of meat in the freezer.
