I purchased a dozen 330 conibear traps. I got 2 out before the bottom fell out on me this afternoon. I am so glad I purchased the large setting tool. Dang them things are strong.

Learned first lesson, don't set traps on a dam right before you are going to get 3 inches of rain! LOL

I keep a little wire J hook trap setter in the D ring on front of my waders in case I get bit and need to get it off my arm... luckily I've never had to use it for that. Setting with it is not easy. I use to use it all the time and I used rope and all kinds of techniques just like Trapper Ron above.... Just get a pair of long handle setters.
