What do y'all think?

I'll be buying one myself as soon as my house sells. Still haven't decided if I'll keep my SBE II or sell it.

I think SHOT Show was the formal introduction of it.
I'm by no means a shotgun expert but if you already own a SBEII I would stick with it.

Is it going to have a new choke system? I seen mention of the gun but really know nothing about it.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

How exactly do they [supposedly] improve on the SBE2?

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

1. All Politicians Are Liars
2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement
3. Taxation Is Theft

At the heart of the new SBE3 is the inertia-driven action, which is centered around an Easy Locking System – an enhanced breech-closing system that eliminates the possibility for a shooter-induced stoppage when trying to softly close the bolt or when the shotgun is treated roughly in the blind.
And because hardcore waterfowl hunters don’t stay out of the field in frigid weather, the new SBE3 is designed for easier operation with gloved and/or cold hands. The oversized bolt handle, oversized bolt release, oversized safety and redesigned magazine cap along with the enlarged load port make for easier operation in cold conditions

The new Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 combines dozens of new features, improving the aesthetic qualities and reliability of the gun while making it even easier to handle. At the heart of the Super Black Eagle lies the SBE3 inertia-driven action, which has been further improved to guarantee that the bolt will close precisely every time, even in the case of heavy-handed use by the shooter. All the parts you might have to use with your hands are oversized so they can be used easily when wearing gloves, which is often the case on those cold mornings in the wetlands.

There are dozens of new features and enhancements that improve the way the shotgun looks, feels and performs. At the heart of the new SBE3 is the inertia-driven action, which is centred around an Easy Locking System – an enhanced breech-closing system that eliminates the possibility for a shooter-induced stoppage when trying to softly close the bolt or when the shotgun is treated roughly in the blind. And because hardcore waterfowl hunters don’t stay out of the field in frigid weather, the new SBE3 is designed for easier operation with gloved and/or cold hands. The bolt handle, the button that closes it, the safety, loading and ejection ports are large enough not to have to fiddle with, without looking too big.

The stock can easily be adapted to the shooter’s physical requirements by using a shim kit for up to eight different cast and drop configurations. The forend has been redesigned too, making the gun even easier to aim.
The rest of the stock has also been redesigned to enhance the effectiveness of the ComforTech internal recoil reduction system and the Combtech butt plate, features that make this gun a joy to fire even with the most powerful of cartridges. Available in black, Realtree Max-5, Gore Optifade Timber and Mossy Oak Bottomlands camo, the new Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 is available with 26 or 28-inch Crio® barrels.

They fixed all the issues with the SBEII and implemented some cost cutting processes in manufacturing. Supposedly better gun that they can make cheaper than the II. It feels cheap (to me) when you pick it up but didn't shoot one yet. BTW I have a SBEII and sold my original SBE to buy it. That was a mistake, I liked my original one, shot better and didn't jam all the time. Not sure if i'll got to the SBEIII or get a Versamax Waterfowler Pro...

So I've still got my SBE 1's. One is the H&K that will take the 4th 3.5" shell (a.k.a. Ghost Rider) with the plug still in the gun. Wouldn't trade either for an SBEII or SBEIII or whatever the latest "best" or "newest" shotgun is on the market.

Whatever they "fixed" ain't broke on either of mine.

I saw the SBE3 at Shot Show last week and thought here we go again... cheaper to manufacture... higher price tag.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Yep. I'm happy with my original SBE.

The biggest complaint about the SBE II is the famed "benelli click." This is an attempt to stop their shooters from making the stupid mistake of playing with their bolt and causing said "click."
