Two miles or so how the crow flies

Second rut about to kick in around here.

I hunt the crossroads at covered bridge road and Joy road. Saw four does and a seven point this morning. Scrapes everywhere but no chasing yet. I've seen bucks three of the last four hunts there though. They are on their feet.

Just heard a couple of bucks at the club with noses to the ground hopefully it will go wide open this weekend

That's good news but I ain't gona do backflips just yet. 75degrees and on the back side of a full moon is double bad juju for me.

Had a guy in Marshall Co tell me he didn't hunt today, just like me. He was driving to a friends house and said he saw 5 bucks following one doe.

Church tomorrow, wheeler flintlock hunt Monday, then ill be back at it here every day till my boy gets him one, too warm, bad moon or whatever. Daddy always said "hang in there, you'll get you one".

first scrape seen today, amongst a bunch of rubs on smallish trees and shubs. probably small buck(s). still ...

I shot a 10 point chasing a doe today

They are chasing. Saw 8pt chasing doe Friday evening.

A few rubs and no scrapes near Horton mill covered bridge. No bucks on cam have swollen necks or dark mocks. Hoping soon with colder weather on the way.

Been hunting Blount county for 30 years. In my experience the main rut is 10 day period beginning at Christmas and the last week of season I always see a flurry of chasing on small does.

I grew up in Blount County and still hunt several areas there now. From my experience, in the Locust Fork area it is going now and probably winding down. on a farm I hunt in the Cleveland/Nectar area they are starting to chase now and in the Limestone Springs area all the chasing I have seen in years past have been the last few days of January and into February. These are only my observations so it may be different from what everyone else is seeing. Good luck guys.
