Weld the trailer to the hitch then weld the hitch to the frame. It's thief proof and won't be removed without lots of annoying work How does this work with a ball hitch? The trailer has to swivel on the ball. Are you loosening the ball so it can swivel?

Was this in the woods or along the side of a well traveled road?? It was under a drive thru carport at our hunting camp in Society Hill. We have a camp that is right beside a county rd. They have stolen 3 4 wheelers and trailers. They sneak in the middle of the night with bolt cutters and cut the lock. Then pick up the trailer, or swing at around so they can hook it their truck and they're gone. Just this past weekend 2 others were stolen. One guy had about a 40k rig stolen. Another guy had an Arctic Cat and trailer stolen from Elm Hat hunting club.

I would go to the end of the road if possible and throw up some cameras and catch them as they pull off and get a description and if you have the cellular cams i would put one next to your camp to shoot a pic to your cell phone . Yeah in this situation it's not possible with the way the house is positioned. Camera system will work though around the house. I went ahead and started another thread to give people the heads up. These people are dangerous and are taking their lives in their hands.
