Do y'all reuse these disposable stakes? Just wondering how many times you can bend them back into shape and trust them to reliably hold a coyote. I know eventually being bent back and forth will weaken them.

Get you some super stakes and don't worry about it.

Finned super stakes with a retrieval cable attached solves that problem!

I'm way behind the times. I've always used a sharpened concrete rod with a washer welded at the top. What is a super stake and why is it better?

I've also used a sapling about 7-8 feet long thru the chain ring and let it be a drag. Mainly did that on coon sets in water, but have used them on Fox and bobcat. They never go far and the good thing is they don't mess up the site.

PCP super stakes are reuseable earth anchors. You can add another piece of cable to the other eye to use as a puller with a winch or bar. I just use a sharpshooter shovel and dig mine back out.

Drags are fine too, but most of my sets are in fields and could take a long way to hook up to anything. Unless it is really muddy I just rake the catch circle to blend it in and reset it.

Thanks. So what's the advantage over concrete rod?

Rods will get pumped out of the ground. Especially in Sandy soil.

The earth anchors are lighter and more convenient to use and haul.

Do y'all use cable or chain on your super stakes?

I have some of both, prefer the chain over the cable.

Chain for me! Good chain will take years and years of use and abuse and only cost a few dollars more to buy them rigged with chain.

I use rebar with a nut welded on top. I use the winch on the atv to remove.
