So my dear and loving wife hit a dead skunk in the middle of the road....and we are trying to sell the car. As far as I can tell it's in the wheel wells. I don't see any skunk anywhere but it obviously lingers. I'm about to put it on a for sale by owner car lot... it's about to rain a lot, will that help the smell? Although it's underneath the car? I know in time it will fade away but don't want it to hinder the sell.

Is this skunk rut season or something??

I always see a lot of dead skunks on the side
of the road this time of year, especially on Pike Road
heading south out of Montgomery towards Meriwether Road and down Old Carter Hill Road. Either it is mating season there or it is a skunk crossing zone.

haleyville al,
I had one stick on grill. So I got the full force. With that said it took about 2 days for it to go away.

I heard tomato juice does the trick. A friend bathed his dog in it and then washed him with soap a few times and it was tolerable. Not sure how you would apply that to the underside of a care. Good luck.

When it's out in the open it's a faint smell. If you pull it in the garage you can really smell it. I'm hoping time takes care of it. It's all external. Can't smell it inside the car.

I said the same thing the other day! 3 nasty smelling ones from house to gate down woodley road the other day, and then one in the stand

I bet you driving it a heavy rain a good bit will help.

My fiest took a direct hit two weeks ago. The back door where she sleeps still smells rank.

central ala,
Last week i discovered a skunk is the only animal in Alabama that will make me stay in a stand longer than I had planned.
