I was sick the week before Christmas and went to the doc got the shots and antibiotics. Was fine the week of Christmas. Last week it hit me again. Coughing my head off ears stopped up. How long does this crap last?

I have been very close to the same. I'm not terribly sick right now but can't seem to get the snot to stop running down the back of my throat,making me cough. I have a slightly congested cough that has been going on for a little more than a week.

I'm taking mucinex now. Don't want to go back to the doc.

Quit taking pills and let your body fight it. Some viruses just need to be left alone, and I'm not a doctor.

It's some bad chit dude. The flu went around my house for the 17 days I took off at the end of the year and then secondary bacterial infections set in and everyone is still coughing our heads off.

Been fighting mine for about week. Been taking mucinex to thin it out, but man this stuff is thick. Haven't went to the doctor and usually don't unless running a fever. Slept on the couch last night to keep from waking my wife. It always get worse when you lay down at night even when you elevate your head. I wonder if it is contagious?

I've had a sinus infection for a month. Had a small surgery in between and was given an antibiotic prescription, but it didn't touch it. Been using doggone nose spray stuff constantly (and you aren't supposed to). Wake up every day with my head feeling like a brick. Just won't go away!!

Several people at the office got it, felt a little better, and it came back.

Your body is the best weapon you have. Might take a while longer to get rid of it by letting it run its course, but I don't want a steroid in my system every time that crud creeps up on me. I fight allergies year round so I got plenty of reasons to go see a Dr. just to breathe. Might go twice a year, but not more often. Let your own defenses go to work.

I've got it. Ibuprofen is all I've taken. Seems to help. Had it over a week. Don't feel like I'm dying anymore, but its hanging in there like a hair in a biscuit.

Yep laying down I cough like crazy. Every 2 minutes cough 3 times. Getting old quick.

"been dealing with the mess for nearly a month". I read this earlier and started to jump out of my treestand on my head. I'd hate to have to go through another month of this.

I got sick the Thursday before Christmas, and was down for about two weeks. Fairly certain that I actually had the flu. Thank God I managed to survive it.

Had this coming on for 2 days now. Went to urgent care and got a steroid shot and took some Alkaseltzer Cold and Flu. Feeling much better now.

I got some sorta crap on Nov 12 and went to the Dr. I was back at the Dr the next week. finally got over it completely a couple days before Christmas. Never had anything hang on so long.

It's going around. I felt Sick in mid December then felt better and went downhill again. Finally felt better this Monday. Only thing that helped me was Mucinex. A family friend went to urgent care and they told her to take Mucinex. Apparently antibiotics and other stuff a doctor gives you won't help.

Mine started last week of November. Got better but never stopped coughing. Flash forward to this week, sick as a dog Sunday. Went back to Dr today. Deer are NOT arracted to coughing. Found out a guy who had it turned into pneumonia and is no longer with us.

I had it at Thanksgiving. 30,000 mg of Keflex fixed mine. It took 9 days, 3000 mg a day, of the 10 day supply of it, but it was gone. No lingering cough, no nothing. It was the worst case I guess I've ever had too. The head congestion was horrible.
