Turret is faster than single stage but slower than progressives. You'd be better off with a startup kit.
Only hits count.

I started to buy a RCBS turret press when I started. I went with the Rock Chucker Supreme, instead. I'm glad I did. I don't see where having a turret system would've saved me much time, anyway.

EL Mat sometimes you need to bump case's for me a good single stage is best, that way you do one step at a time, & its right. I agree 100% with this advice..you will pay more attention to what you're doing with a single stage press...Ive been reloading for near 20 years and still use 2 single stage presses for my rifles and have had no accidents yet
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

I started out with a Lee 4 hole turret press and now have a Rock chucker and a Dillon 550b. I still use my Lee for loading up my rifle ammo. I unhooked the rod that makes it rotate and use it like a single stage I like that I can have all my dies set up and not have to make any adjustments as long as all components are the same

I think the best way to learn basic reloading is with a single stage press. If you're only loading for one cartridge/rifle, then an inexpensive single stage press will be the way to go. You will need sizing, seating and trim dies, calipers and scales, plus a few other small items and you will be good to go.
