It has been so warm lately that I have not seen any dear. Has anyone else had any success?

Bucks are still on their feet during daylight. When it cools off it will help though

I found some water oaks that are getting hit hard today and saw 4 this afternoon. Sure felt like bow season again. Sweated like a pig all afternoon.

I killed a doe on a 70 degree day about 15 years ago, that is the extent of my hunting success on hot days. I still hunt warm days though gotta go when you can.

Lots of difference between a warm day now, and the early bow season when it's always 75 to 90 degrees. I don't really think the heat is the problem, it's the frontal and barometric system change that's causing it when it happens this time of year (just my opinion). Lots of people the past couple of days saying "this heat has got em laid up, not moving". Nah, I don't think the temperature, except for gross extremes, matters whatsoever to deer. And even then, I observe extreme cold affecting deer moreso than heat. I know it's an arguable point, and I don't have any science behind it, but that's just my thoughts about it.

I saw a big 9 point Monday morning around 11 on our property in Stevenson AL. I can't catch a break this year. The wind was blowing up through a draw pretty hard and he came up behind me. I didn't hear him until he was about 20 yards away. Acted like he was on a doe's scent. I managed to stand up and he stopped broadside no more than 10 yards beside of me. Took the old recurve off the bow hanger - one of those EZ hang pieces of crap - and squeaked. He bolted and ran about 30-40 yards. I tried to grunt him back but it didn't work.

I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. Theres a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts. Ronald Reagan

I wouldn't pay attention to the heat. Have you ever said, I'm not going to eat or try to get laid today because it's too hot? They're moving. I sat all day Thursday and Friday and didn't see anything however one of my cameras about 500 yards away had an 8, 10, and 11 point cruise by. Now if that happened again this weekend then it would be easy to say and believe they aren't moving. My cameras say they are always moving, no matter what.
