I love my ruger American and its in your price range and American made. I've killed out to 250 yards with mine without issues. My limit is 300 yards mainly because I don't have anywhere to practice at any longer yardages.

Academy has that for $700
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

What are you considering long range? I wouldn't really call it long range but for deer hunting I consider 400 yards PLENTY long range and would still prolly never take a shot that far on a deer unless I had to. In reality I don't hunt anywhere with a shot that far but I want a long range hunting rifle to add to the collection. a .308 would work well for that range and would be cheaper to shoot.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

It's definitely either gonna be 300win, 308, or 7mag (Trox talking me into the 7mag)

DK for what you are wanting to do, all things considering, the 7mag will fit you the best. You will have the power of the 300 with less kick and better ballistics. Ill say I had a 308 and sold it due to the over all ballistics of the round. It will get you there however with much more drop and less velocity
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

7 mag has a lot of slack to fill before it gets to 300win mag potential, not sure where some of you get your info from, top pic is 7mag, bottom is 300. This a comparing the best performing bullets in each one. 7mm Rem mag 150gr 300 win mag 200 gr btsp

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

300 WM in a light rifle can tenderize the shoulder. Its a pretty big step up in recoil from a 7 mm RM to a 300 WM. Unless you are experienced with hard kicking guns, I would go with the 7.

Bass Pro in Prattville had a Tikka T3 Lite in 300 mag for $499. Not sure if they still have it but it was there on Sunday. Bet that sucker kills on both ends! My son turned 18 and decided his 270 and 7mm-08 were kids guns and he needed a mans gun so he went and bought one of those. Dont think he even put half a box of shells thru it and he sold it
