Good to hear that since the HAW average on the shelf $6-7 a box cheaper than the fusions usually run.
Ive shot the HAW on paper and they grouped well.

Shot a doe with my 7 mag 130 grain haw 250 yard shot. At the shot she humped up and walked off slowly tail tucked. I reloaded and shot again as she made it into the wood line. We are talking about her being 15 yards from the edge of the woods on a gas line. No blood anywhere. Ive never missed a deer with a rifle in 20 years of hunting. Especially with a rock solid rest

I wouldn't recommend them. My deer went down with lung shots but the bullets fragmented so bad they would not have worked if I had needed penetration on a full length body shot. If you will only take a broadside shot on lungs and heart, they would likely work fine. I won't limit myself on that because you never know what will happen.

In my experience, 243 on 2 bucks and a doe, Hornady Whitetails suck. No pass throughs, and all three were tough tracking jobs due to no blood. Deer were between 50-100 yards shot broad side. I'll never use them again.

They shoot tight little groups, but use them on coyotes, not deer.

Federal Premium 140 ballistic tips. I'm down to a handful of rounds and thought about trying some new brands..

These are two 140gr Federal Fusion 7mm-08 bullets recovered from two large bucks weighing 190 plus pounds. Both were shot almost straight on. The bullets traveled from the front shoulder across the length of the deer to the opposite rump. Both bullets were just under the hide on the rear end of each deer. I have taken a bunch of deer with Federal Fusions in multiple calibers .308, 7mm-08 and .30-06. If your rifle will shoot them well I would use them. They are really hard to beat for the money.

Yep,I love Fusions. They will expand very well and stay together. You can't ask for anything better than that.

This is a Fusion 270 150 grn that traveled full length of a little fork horn buck. From the way I hit him I'm convinced the penetration attained because the bullet didn't fragment, caused a much quicker death. I may not have recovered this deer with a lesser bullet that shattered.

I did have a HAW bullet to blow up on a doe as well. Killed her, but not happy with performance. Use the fusion.

I've been happy with the 140 grain Accubonds. I loaded about 50 rounds 3 years ago and still have some. I've gotten full passthroughs on two 170 pound bucks at about 100 yards. Both bucks went about 30 yards.
