As long as your string and cables are well waxed and your clean it up when you get done it will be fine. I usually use some rem oil on the bolts to keep them from rusting

Keep the string waxed on bows and crossbows. Never heard of oiling anything else but probably can't hurt.

I use to use 3M fly fishing wax on all my archery equipment but it's hard to find. A few years ago I switched the chap stick. Works great.
