Guys,

I'm looking for some advice. I may buy a crossbow and I'm liking what I'm reading about the reverse draw options. I really like the new Bear Torrix, as I'm trying to stay in the <$600 range.

Any opinions based from experience out there?

Smaller, I would only be concerned with longevity of the bow. A lot of energy in those long power strokes and sharp angles.
But I'm not really the one to know much about the reverse bows.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I don't know about that particular brand but the Scorpyd bows that started the reverse limb bows are top of the line and the fastest out. If I get another one I would like to try one out but they're around the $1500 mark, but shoot in the 400-450fps range. If you're not set on the reverse limbs I would highly recommend the Stryker bows. They're not reverse limb but reverse cams. Which is a good design and allows you to get more stroke at the same weight. I have 2 and I think they're as good as you can get unless you really want the 400+fps. I have the 350 and 390 and have been very pleased. You should be able to find a 350 solution for around $600. I've had several different crossbows and I don't think you'll find one better at that price.

I would definitely make sure that they have life time warranties if you go with the brand you mentioned or any brand for that matter. As stated above you can have issues, limbs and stuff will sometimes crack and can be very expensive to fix if you have to foot the bill.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely check out the Stryker. I don't know much about crossbows at all, other than I'd like to have one. I shot the bear Torrix at Field and Stream in Mobile. It seemed really fast.

I'll have to find a dealer to see if I can take a look at the strykers. I'll prolly buy one next week, and I'm looking forward to putting it to use soon.

Pros: Better balance, narrower limb width, faster with lower draw weights, quieter, nearly parallel limbs reduce vibration.

Cons: The draw is longer than expected.

I have a vengeance and other than cocking it, I love it. Screaming fast, quiet (not usually associated with x-bows), and crazy accurate.

I have a Horton vision. I love the small width and find it easier to shot out of a blind. My ten point is so much wider and have to watch out for the limbs to hit the blind, etc.

As Geno mentioned, cocking it is the real drawback.
